PI 34.037(2)(2)Authorization. A license issued under this section authorizes the license holder to teach a technology education subject or vocational education subject in the school district that provided the offer of employment under sub. (3)., and it is not valid in another school district.
PI 34.037(3)(3)Eligibility. The state superintendent may issue a tier I license under this section to an applicant who meets all of the following requirements:
PI 34.037(3)(b)(b) Enters into an agreement with the school board of the school district in which the applicant has received an offer of employment which requires the applicant to complete a curriculum in professional development training during the term of the initial license, as determined by that school board.
PI 34.037(4)(4)Duration. A license issued under this section is valid for 3 years.
PI 34.037(5)(5)Advancement. Upon expiration of the initial license issued under sub. (2), the state superintendent shall issue the applicant a 5-year, renewable professional experience-based license to teach a technical or vocational education subject if all of the following apply:
PI 34.037(5)(a)(a) The applicant is eligible for a teaching license under this section.
PI 34.037(5)(b)(b) The applicant has completed the professional development curriculum agreed to under sub. (3) (b) to the satisfaction of the school board of the school district where the applicant teaches.
PI 34.037(5)(c)(c) The applicant submits to the state superintendent evidence of completing the curriculum agreed to under sub. (3) (b).
PI 34.0374(1)(a)(a) “Apprenticeship program” means an approved apprenticeship program under s. 106.001 (4), Stats., or pursuant to laws in other states governing approved apprenticeship programs, in an industrial arts subject.
PI 34.0374(1)(b)(b) “Industrial arts subject” means one of the following subject areas:
PI 34.0374(2)(2)Authorization. A permit issued under this section authorizes the permit holder to teach in grades 9 to 12 in the industrial arts subject for which the applicant meets the requirements under sub. (3).
PI 34.0374(3)(3)Eligibility. The state superintendent may issue a tier I permit under this section to an applicant who meets one of the following requirements:
PI 34.0374(3)(a)(a) Holds an apprenticeship certificate verifying completion of an apprenticeship program, which has the meaning given in s. 106.001 (4), Stats., or pursuant to other states’ apprenticeship laws and verifies 3 years of experience employed in the industrial arts subject beyond the apprenticeship.
PI 34.0374(3)(b)(b) Has completed four years of institutional training in the industrial arts subject at an accredited institution of higher education.
PI 34.0374(3)(c)(c) Holds a certification by the Wisconsin technical college system board to teach the industrial art subject or similar subject.
PI 34.0374(5)(5)Duration. A permit issued under this section is valid for 5 years.
PI 34.0374(6)(6)Renewal. A permit issued under this section is renewable.
PI 34.0375PI 34.0375Tier I, clinically trained mental health professional license.
PI 34.0375(1)(1)Authorization. A license issued under this section authorizes the license holder to work as a clinically trained mental health professional. A license issued under this section does not authorize the license holder to work as a school social worker or a school counselor.
PI 34.0375(2)(2)Eligibility. The state superintendent may issue a tier I license under this section to an applicant who satisfies all of the following:
PI 34.0375(2)(a)1.1. A master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, social work, or a similar field.
PI 34.0375(2)(a)2.2. A valid clinical marriage and family therapy license, clinical professional counselor license, or clinical social worker license issued by the marriage and family therapy, professional counseling, and social work examining board.
PI 34.0375(2)(b)(b) The applicant agrees to do all of the following:
PI 34.0375(2)(b)1.1. Store, safeguard, and dispose of client records in ways that maintain confidentiality and comply with the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, 45 CFR 164.502.
PI 34.0375(2)(b)2.2. Maintain accurate and adequate clinical and financial records in accordance with the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, 45 CFR 164.502.
PI 34.0375(3)(3)Duration. A license issued under this section is valid for 2 years.
PI 34.0375(4)(4)Renewal. A license issued under this section is renewable.
PI 34.0385PI 34.0385Tier I tribal, community and school liaison license.
PI 34.0385(1)(1)Authorization. A license issued under this section authorizes the license holder to work as a tribal, community, and school liaison in an American Indian language and culture education program. A license to serve as a liaison in an American Indian language and culture program is not mandatory.
PI 34.0385(2)(2)Eligibility. The state superintendent may issue a tribal, community, and school liaison license under this section if all of the following apply:
PI 34.0385(2)(a)(a) The applicant is determined competent for the license by the designee of the local American Indian parent advisory committee under s. 115.735, Stats., and one of the following:
PI 34.0385(2)(a)1.1. The district administrator of the employing school district.
PI 34.0385(2)(a)2.2. The administrator of the employing alternative school.
PI 34.0385(2)(b)(b) The applicant is certified to be competent in the associated American Indian language and is knowledgeable about the history and culture of the associated American Indian population. The certification under this paragraph shall be made by one of the following entities, as determined by the associated tribal government:
PI 34.0385(2)(b)3.3. The local American Indian parent advisory committee.
PI 34.0385(3)(3)Duration. A license issued under this section is valid for a period of no less than one year and not to exceed three years, as determined on an individual basis, upon certification by the entity designated by the associated tribal government under par. (2) (b).
PI 34.0385(4)(4)Renewal. A license issued under this section is renewable.
PI 34.0386PI 34.0386Tier I, American Indian language and culture aide license.
PI 34.0386(1)(1)Authorization. A license issued under this section authorizes the license holder to serve as a tribal, community, and school liaison in an American Indian language and culture education program. A license to serve as an aide in an American Indian language and culture program is not mandatory.
PI 34.0386(2)(2)Eligibility. The state superintendent may issue an American Indian language and culture aide license under this section if all of the following apply:
PI 34.0386(2)(a)(a) The applicant is determined competent for the license by the designee of the local American Indian parent advisory committee under s. 115.735, Stats., and one of the following:
PI 34.0386(2)(a)1.1. The district administrator of the employing school district.
PI 34.0386(2)(a)2.2. The administrator of the employing alternative school.
PI 34.0386(2)(b)(b) The applicant is certified to be competent in the associated American Indian language and is knowledgeable about the history and culture of the associated American Indian population.
